When you create music beats on your PC, you are able to arrange your own music mixes as well as record your backing tracks. To make beats, you can download software with the tools to preview and save your recordings. You can find basic music creation programs for free while applications with more advanced features may charge a nominal fee to download the software.
Step 1
Find a program that you can use to create your music beats. An example of a free program you can use is Jam Studio. Register for a free account in order to save your beat creations. If your PC has a built in music creation software program, like Cakewalk Music Creator you can use this. Alternatively, you can purchase a software program like Sony Music Studio.
Step 2
Open up a new blank score. The score page will be used to create your beats. To manage your music, you should rename and save the score.
Step 3
Choose how many beats per measure. Most programs will default to four, but you can make adjustments as well.
Step 4
Pick your chord. When creating beats, you need to choose the chord that you wish to use for each measure. Some examples include A, E, G and B. A selection of variations should also be open to you.
Step 5
Set the instrument that you want the beat replayed to you through the application program. You can use a guitar, drums, organ, bass or piano on most programs. Multiple instruments can be worked into a single score.
Step 6
Set the tempo for your musical score. The tempo is the speed at which the beats will be played back on your score. Once you have arranged all of the beats on your blank score, you can press the play button on the program to preview the arrangement. There will be a save option as well within the application to allow you to access the music again. Saved scores can be added to video and picture files you have on your computer.
Once you complete a single musical score with the different beats, programs allow you to change the sequence as well as include new musical beats as needed. Songs can also be imported into music creation software programs and altered with the use of the studio tools. Multiple tracks can be imported to make remixes for DJ sets.
